Suspect in custody after leading CHP on chase across LA, Orange counties

LOS ANGELES COUNTY, Calif. - A suspect is in custody after leading authorities on a chase across Los Angeles and Orange counties Monday night. SkyFOX was initially over the scene in Lakewood where a stolen Nissan pickup truck was leading the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department on a chase. The suspect continued to Norwalk later in the chase and then went through Anaheim, Buena Park and other parts of Orange County.

Man Pleads Guilty In Dana Point Car-To-Car Shooting

A convicted felon pleaded guilty Tuesday and was immediately sentenced to four years in prison for a car-to-car shooting in Dana Point. Ahmad Hussain Abassi, 36, of San Juan Capistrano, pleaded guilty to assault with a deadly weapon, carrying a loaded firearm in public, a convicted felon carrying a concealed firearm in a vehicle, all felonies, and a misdemeanor count of a prohibited person owning ammunition.

Two Men Charged In Timeshare Fraud Ring

A 44-year-old man pleaded not guilty Tuesday to operating a timeshare fraud scheme that prosecutors alleged ripped off at least five victims in Orange County. Luke Shannon McKinley was charged Sept. 16 with one count of conspiracy, three counts of theft from an elder adult and five counts of grand theft, all felonies. He was scheduled to return to court Nov. 2 for a pretrial hearing in the Central Justice Center in Santa Ana.

Arrest in connection with body found in trunk in California

STANTON, Calif. (AP) — Authorities say an Oklahoma City man has been arrested in connection with the killing of a man whose body was found in the trunk of a car two years ago in Southern California. The 27-year-old suspect was taken into custody in Oklahoma on suspicion of conspiracy to commit murder. The Orange County Register says he is awaiting an extradition hearing to see if he’ll be transported to California. Investigators say they believe the man was involved in the 2019 killing of 31-year-old Jeffrey Cheng of Irvine. It’s still not clear how Cheng was killed, or how long his body was inside the trunk.
