Northern Strike 21-2 operations planned in Western Upper Peninsula

LANSING, Mich. (WLUC) - Several Northern Strike (NS) 21-2 military training events are scheduled to take place in Michigan’s Western Upper Peninsula August 2-4, 2021. Flying operations are expected on and above Ontonagon-Schuster Field in Ontonagon and Sawyer International Airport in Gwinn. Ground training operations are planned in the Baraga State Forest.

Ontonagon gets grant for fire rescue truck

ONTONAGON — Ontonagon will be able to replace a more than 30-year-old fire department rescue truck through a state grant for municipalities in financial distress. The village received $227,995 from the Financially Distressed Cities, Villages and Townships (FDCVT) Grant Program. It will be used to replace a truck from 1989, said Interim Village Manager William DuPont.

46th annual Tractor Pull takes place at the Ontonagon County Fair

GREENLAND TOWNSHIP, Mich. (WLUC) - The Wisconsin/Michigan Antique Power Association held its annual Tractor Pull at the Ontonagon County Fair on Sunday, July 25. “It’s an old-style tractor pull.
