$2 Million Bond Set for Little Suamico Murder Suspect

OCONTO, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) – A $2 million cash bond was set Wednesday for the suspect in a drug deal-related murder. Manuel Herrera-Hernandez made his initial appearance in Oconto County court for the Feb. 22 murder along Lade Beach Road in Little Suamico. Herrera-Hernandez returns to court July 15 on the first-degree intentional homicide charge, court records show.

Oconto County Judge Orders $2M Bond For Accused Killer

An Oconto County judge has set the bond at two million dollars for an accused killer. Thirty-two-year-old Manuel Antonio Herrera-Hernandez made his initial court appearance Wednesday. Herrea-Hernandez is charged with first-degree intentional homicide in the February shooting death of a man in Little Suamico. The victim’s name hasn’t been released.

3 arrested for home invasion robberies; stolen guns recovered

CRANDON, Wis. (WBAY) - Three people, including two teenagers, are now in custody for two armed home invasion robberies in Forest and Oconto counties last week. The Forest County Sheriff’s Office says people were threatened in their homes in Wabeno and Mountain last Friday. The robberies happened 30 minutes apart. In each case, three people armed with knives and a gun forced their way into a home. In one robbery, the family dog was stabbed and a 12-year-old boy had a gun pointed at him as he was forced to lay down on the floor as the robbers took cash, jewelry and prescription pills. In the other robbery, another child had a gun pointed at them as several guns and other items were stolen.

Prosecutors in Oconto are expected to file murder charges in what’s being called a drug-debt killing. The Oconto County Sheriff’s Office asked for the charges yesterday against 32-year-old Manuel Antonio Herrera-Hernandez. Investigators say Herrera-Hernandez shot and killed a man last February in the parking lot of the Green Bay Shores State Wildlife Area. The sheriff’s office says Herrera-Hernandez last month admitted that he killed the man over a drug debt. Investigators think the dead man was a drug dealer in the Green Bay area.

Road closures coming to Highway 22 in Oconto County

OCONTO COUNTY (WLUK) -- Nearly seven miles of Highway 22 will be impacted for almost two months during an upcoming project. The Wisconsin Department of Transportation says Highway 22 will be closed between highways 141 and 41 in the towns of Stiles and Oconto. The project starts June 15 and is expected to run through mid-August.
