RUSSELLVILLE, Ark. – On Tuesday, the Great American Conference announced the results of its 2022 women's soccer preseason coaches' poll. City, police warn citizens of new in-person scam

The City of Weatherford said they have received several calls about an unlicensed solicitor going door-to-door wanting to install an electric meter ontop of roofs. “Anytime a vendor goes to an individual’s door trying to sell something, it is best to ask if they have a city permit. If they don’t have a permit they are not legit,” Assistant Police Chief Josh VanDeburgh said.

And believe me, long before you were ever there, tons of measures were taken to reduce household water consumption, including spending millions on incentives toward getting homeowners to switch to low-water yards and landscaping. And, of course, every bit of agriculture in California -- of which there is absolute tons -- is done through irrigation. California is in no way comparable to Oklahoma.

New airport terminal closer to completion

The new airport terminal facility at the Weatherford Stafford Airport is reaching completion and is scheduled to be finished late September or early October. “We’re pretty well on schedule. The flooring and the outside siding are supposed to be in by the end of this month and those items are supposed to be completed in September and hopefully everything will be done by October,” Mayor Mike Brown said.

Weatherford pool closed, Splash pad changing hours soon

Although the Weatherford Public Pool has closed for the remainder of the summer, the splash pad remains open and is changing hours August 8. Monday-Friday the splash pad will be open 3:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m., Saturday 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Sunday 1 p.m. to 6 p.m. Provided.

Daniel Mediola Hernandez was scheduled to appear Wednesday for the charges of security verification violation, expired tax, failure to yield for emergency vehicle, operate motor vehicle without valid license and DUI. Bond is $1,561.

SWOSU President presents research at Weatherford Public Library

“The walls seem like they were a lot higher,” SWOSU President Dr. Diana Lovell said as she recalled coming to the Weatherford Public Library as a small child. Dr. Lovell presented research about the beloved British author Jane Austen Wednesday morning at the Weatherford Public Library’s Books in Review. Before she discussed Austen, Dr. Lovell reminisced about her excitement over the new library.
