She loved teaching and reading to first graders. Then, a travel agent with Burlingame Travel Bureau. Member and volunteer at Mills Hospital Auxiliary for 12 years. Avo Maxine Hammond was born in Rugby, Tennessee, to Eland and Gladys Hammond. She was the oldest of two girls, and when she was 2, the family moved to Jamestown, Tennessee. Throughout the years, her family loved hearing her stories about fishing with her dad, going on ride-alongs with him to go fix someone’s car, her fear of snakes, chauffeuring puppies in her red wagon, the kindness of her mother, and living life in the country. Michael Jerabek

Michael Jerabek passed away surrounded by his family, due to an aggressive battle with Parkinson’s disease on Aug. 31, 2021. He was 65 years old. He spent his childhood on Long Island, N.Y., in New Hampshire, and was a local of Half Moon Bay, Calif., for 33 years. He was a graduate of the University of New Hampshire with a degree in computer science. Michael worked for over 40 years in the industry including participating in designing the first space shuttle. After working on the space shuttle design at Rockwell in Seal Beach, Calif., he moved to Half Moon Bay with his family and worked at HSQ Technologies for 30 years.

Jason Nuckels

Jason was born in San Mateo, California May 8, 1969 and he was also raised in San Mateo California before moving to Fremont. He passed away suddenly September 8, 2021. Jason is survived by his loving wife Sherry Nuckels, stepson Christian Lima, Parents Robert and Lorraine Nuckels, Brothers Scott and Mark Nuckels, and sister Kristen Young. He was a loving husband, stepfather, son, brother, uncle, cousin, nephew, and friend. Jason was an avid drummer and marched with the Santa Clara Vanguard in 1986. He was heavily involved with the organization up to the day he passed. We will miss you and think of you every day my love. Until we meet again.

Dorothy Kathryn McCollough (Katie)

Katie was born in Webster City, Iowa, where she attended elementary school finished her education in Livermore. Katie worked as a grocery store cashier at National T and Super Value, both in Webster City. The marriage to James B. McCollough (Jim) in 1963 blended their families. The family moved back to Livermore in 1969. After Jim's death, Katie moved to Hanford, California, and eventually to Placerville, California, where she resided at the time of her death.
