Major League Baseball may be giving Rodolfo Castro a phone call.  The league is reportedly looking into the bizarre incident that transpired during Tuesday’s Pirates-Diamondbacks game, in which a cell phone fell out of Castro’s back pocket as he slid into third base.  According to The Athletic’s Ken Rosenthal, Castro is “technically in violation of MLB’s regulation prohibiting electronic devices on the field or in the dugout,” with the lone exception being MLB-approved iPads. Pittsburgh Pirates infielder Rodolfo Castro shocked the world on Tuesday by allowing a cellphone to fall out of his pocket in the middle of an MLB game. But as funny as it might have been in the moment, Castro might have found himself in trouble with the league. According to MLB insider Ken Rosenthal, Castro's actions was technically a violation of Major League Baseball's regulation against electronic devices on the field or in the dugout.

PITTSBURGH (KDKA) - After a two-year hiatus because of the pandemic, Pittsburgh's Labor Day parade is coming back. "We're excited to announce that organized labor will be BACK on the streets of Pittsburgh for the 2022 Labor Day Parade!" the Allegheny-Fayette Central Labor Council said on Twitter. The parade is scheduled for Monday, Sept. 5. Pittsburgh's Labor Day Parade usually draws about 200,000 people every year and is one of the biggest in the country. It was canceled in both 2020 and 2021. The Labor Day Weekend of Service will also continue, kicking off with a blood drive on Sept. 2 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

21 beagles from Virginia breeding facility arrive in Pittsburgh

PITTSBURGH (KDKA/AP) - Five Pittsburgh-area organizations are taking in 21 beagles from a breeding facility in Virginia that surrendered about 4,000 dogs. The beagles from the Envigo facility in Cumberland traveled over six hours to get to the Humane Animal Rescue of Pittsburgh's North Side location. Westmoreland municipal authority moves forward with water, sewer upgrades

More than $2 million in upgrades, including water line replacements in Murrysville, were approved Wednesday by the Municipal Authority of Westmoreland County. The authority will spend more than $1.3 million to replace a water line on Murry Highlands Circle and McWilliams Road that serves about 50 customers. Officials said the new pipeline will replace cast iron water lines.
