LYNCHBURG, Va. (WSET) — On Tuesday Market at Main announced the official opening of a new location scheduled around 8 a.m. Wednesday morning. "Come and visit us from 8am-3pm, 7 days a week!" Market at Main said in a Facebook post. The new location is at 3920 Wards Road.

Waynesboro police arrest Crozet man on several firearms charges

WAYNESBORO (WINA) – Waynesboro Police have arrested a Crozet man on several weapons charges. Police say they initially responded shortly after 11:30 Friday night to a report of shots fired in the 100 block of Osage Lane… whic is the location of Moe’s Southwest Grill. Police don’t say if shots were fired inside or outside the building, but they started an investigation and identified 38-year old Hampton Lamar Smith of Crozet as the suspect.

Changes to Liberty-JMU future football games

Liberty’s game against James Madison, originally scheduled for Oct. 24, 2026 in Lynchburg, has been canceled, but that doesn’t mean the two nearby football programs won’t meet in the future. The two FBS teams have agreed to meet in a home-and-home series in 2033 and 2034, according to Damien Sordelett of the Lynchburg News and Advance.

Waynesboro PD makes arrest in connection to shooting

WAYNESBORO, Va. (WHSV) - The Waynesboro Police Department arrested 38-year-old Hampton Lamar Smith of Crozet on multiple alleged weapon offenses. Waynesboro Police officers responded to the 100 block of Osage Lane on August 5, 2022, at approximately 11:41 p.m. for a report of shots fired. The officers started an investigation once arriving on the scene. They determined the identity of the alleged offender, Hampton Lamar Smith.

Spotted lanternfly confirmed in Bedford County, quarantine underway in Lynchburg

BEDFORD, Va. (WSET) — The spotted lanternfly has recently been confirmed in Bedford County the Virginia Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services said. The spotted lanternfly is an exotic, invasive insect with no natural enemies in the United States. Its preferred host is the Tree of Heaven (Ailanthus altissima), but it feeds on more than 100 other plant species including apple, peach, and cherry trees, and grape vines.
