Kingsport Man Arrested In J.C. On Felony Assault Charges

With the help of video surveillance, Johnson City Police arrest a Kingsport man for allegedly pointing a gun at the victim and then threatening to kill him. Elliot Lopez was arrested after the victim told police of the assault. Officers with the Johnson City Police Department obtained video of the area and identified the suspect as Lopez. Lopez was in possession of a handgun that matched the description given by the victim. A records check also revealed Lopez was previously convicted of felony charges that prevented him from carrying a firearm. Lopez awaits an arraignment hearing on Monday.

The skies were filled with colorful balloons this morning at Fun Fest in Kingsport, Tennessee. The Hot Air Balloon Ralley began at 7 a.m. and will return at 7 p.m. tonight. KINGSPORT — Nik Williams swept twin Late Model Stock features Friday night at Kingsport Speedway as the “Concrete Jungle” got wilder once the sun went down. Williams, who scored his seventh and eighth wins of the season, dominated the first 35-lapper on the 3/8-mile concrete oval. It was a relatively tame race with Williams pulling away from Dillon Hodge at the start and leading wire-to-wire.

Home A Total Loss, Vacant At The Time Of Kingsport Blaze

The State Fire Marshall’s Office will investigate the cause of a blaze that totally destroyed a vacant Kingsport home early Friday morning. Central Fire Station One in Kingsport took the call just after midnight, on Dorothy Street, off of Gibson Mill Road. Kingsport Fire Captain Tim Shaffer says the house was fully involved when at least three trucks responded to the fire. An eye witness told us the house had been under renovation at one time, but was empty at the time of the fire. No injuries were reported. However there was some damages to adjacent property Authorities say there could also be delays on Dorothy and Gibson Mill as the cleanup process is underway.

Va. (WJHL) — The Clinchco Volunteer Fire Department was dispatched to a structure fire on Banner Street shortly after midnight Saturday morning.
