CHICAGO — Civil rights leader Rev. Jesse Jackson and his wife, Jacqueline, remained hospitalized Monday after testing positive for COVID-19, family members said. Jesse Jackson, 79, has been fully vaccinated, receiving his first shot in January at a public event where he urged others to do the same. But Jacqueline Jackson, 77, has not been vaccinated, according to longtime family spokesman Frank Watkins.

An alleged drugged driver using his cell phone was seriously injured after he crashed head-on into a school bus near Crystal Lake Wednesday morning, police said. The McHenry County Sheriff’s Office and Cary Fire Protection District responded around 8:15 a.m. Wednesday to Crystal Lake Avenue and Hamilton Drive in unincorporated Crystal Lake for a two-vehicle crash with injuries.

Pair charged in fatal shooting of man in West Pullman
