Metropolitan Cafe in downtown Dallas has closed, after 20 years

After 20 years serving breakfast and lunch in downtown Dallas, the Metropolitan Cafe closed the day before Thanksgiving in 2021. It was a regular stop for commuters walking near Main and Pearl streets — a casual spot to grab a bagel or croissant in the morning, a panini or salad midday. In a city where pricey coffee shops abound, Metropolitan Cafe sold bottomless coffee for less than $2.

From Traditional To Contemporary, It’s All Under One (Faux) Roof

Ripped from the pages of Cali Cool Bro, a magazine I just invented, today’s featured listing. It has everything you’re looking for in a California Contemporary. White exterior with the appearance of a flat roof, but look a little more closely, it’s a FAUX ROOF LINE. It’s a clever way to transition a traditional to a contemporary AND it creates a huge porch out front with two seating areas. It’s tiled, too, for a little extra flash of class.
