Gaithersburg Police Investigate Shooting

Detectives from the Gaithersburg Police Department - Investigative Section are investigating a shooting that occurred in the 400 block of N. Summit Avenue in Gaithersburg. On Tuesday, January 31, 2023, at approximately 6:28 a.m., officers from both the Gaithersburg Police & the Montgomery County Police Department - 6th District responded to the area of N Summit Avenue for the report of a shooting that just occurred. Officers located two adult victims suffering from apparent gunshot wounds. Officers provided first-aid to both victims until Fire & Rescue personnel arrived. The victims were then transported to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Gunman Goes on Rampage at DC Metro Station Leaving Worker Dead and 3 Injured

A gunman went on a rampage Wednesday morning in Southeast D.C., shooting people seemingly at random after altercations on a public bus and at the Potomac Avenue Metro station. In the end, authorities said a Metro employee was killed and three other people were injured. The suspected shooter, identified by authorities as 31-year-old Isaiah Trotman, of Southeast D.C., was tackled by passengers on the Metro train and is in custody.

Man in 80s, woman in 60s die in Montgomery County house fire, officials say

ASPEN HILL, Md. (7News) — A man in his 80s and a woman in her 60s died Wednesday night after a fire burned through a home in Aspen Hill, Montgomery County Fire & EMS said. The fire took place in the 13400 block of Oriental Street in Aspen Hill. Fire crews said they pulled the woman from the burning building and transported her to the hospital in critical condition, where she was pronounced dead.

WASHINGTON, D.C. – 36-year-old Michael Gaddis of Northwest D.C. was shot and killed Monday afternoon. This incident happened at the 500 Block of Somerset Place in the Northwest section. Two wanted individuals in an ongoing investigation were arrested after striking a police officer's vehicle, authorities say. Seymour Police Announce Arrest In Cyberscam

SEYMOUR — The Seymour Police Department on Wednesday announced the arrest of a 48-year-old Maryland man in connection to scamming $375,000 from the town. Charles Ukasanya, of Gaithersburg, is charged with first-degree larceny, which is a felony, according to a statement from Seymour Police Department Chief John Bucherati. Ukasanya is being held in Maryland pending his extradition to Connecticut.
