Miami off-duty nurse credited with saving woman’s life

An area health care worker is being praised for saving a woman’s life while off-duty. Shyanne Brandon, B.S.N., RN, was recently honored by INTEGRIS Health Miami Hospital Chief Executive Jonas Rabel for the life-saving measures she performed while attending as a guest at an employee appreciation event hosted by the Miami Nation’s Prairie Sun and Prairie Moon Casinos.

Off-Duty nurse saves the life of an Oklahoma woman

MIAMI, Okla. – An Ottawa County nurse was recently honored after her heroic efforts saved the life of a woman who nearly drowned. Shyanne Brandon, an INTEGRIS Health Miami Hospital nurse, witnessed a near-drowning incident on July 11 while she was off-duty. She promptly began administering medical aid until emergency medical services arrived on the scene.

Eugene Wesley “Gene” Ralston, 74, Joplin, Missouri, passed away Saturday, August 6, 2022, at his home. He was born on June 14, 1948, in Carthage, Missouri, the son of Lester and Evelyn (Lown) Ralston. Gene attended Carthage Schools growing up, after finishing school went to worked as an over the road truck driver. He married Judi Brooks, to this union two children were born; they later divorced.
