Plymouth motorcyclist seriously injured in crash on HWY 23

PLYMOUTH, Wis. (WFRV) – A 74-year-old man is being treated for serious injuries after a crash at the intersection of State Highway 23 and County Road P Friday. According to a release, the preliminary investigation shows the 74-year-old Plymouth motorcyclist was traveling east on State Highway 23 when it turned at County Road P and got hit by a truck traveling west.

Home in Schleswig catches fire, 1 person suffers possible smoke inhalation

SCHLESWIG, Wis. (WFRV) – One resident suffered possible smoke inhalation after a fire ignited inside of a Schleswig home on Friday morning. According to the Kiel Fire Department, at around 10:54 a.m., crews responded to the 19700 block Hwy 57 in the Town of Schleswig for a report of the back of a house on fire.

One treated for smoke inhalation after Kiel area house fire

KIEL, Wis. (WBAY) - One person was treated for smoke inhalation after a house near Kiel caught fire Friday morning. Firefighters found heavy smoke and flames at the back of the house along Highway 57 in the town of Schleswig just before 11 A.M., the Kiel Fire Department says. The person who was in the house got out safely.

Lakeside Park improvements were the focus of a special Fond du Lac city council meeting this week. The meeting was held to discuss the proposed budget and the council agreed to several amendments regarding Lakeside Park. In addition to $200,000 for repairs to the park Lighthouse, the council voiced support of moving up a $200,000 project to repair the pavement on the Lighthouse Peninsula. City manager Joe Moore says the city has also been approved for a UW Madison Capstone study for the park. A UW Madison landscape-architect graduate student will study the Lighthouse Peninsula and Frazier Point areas and report his findings sometime next spring. The council also supported earmarking $200,000 for design work of a bridge connecting Lakeside Park West and East and a $50,000 study for a Fond du Lac Riverfront District.

House fire near Kiel quickly extinguished

TOWN OF SCHLESWIG (WLUK) -- Firefighters were able to quickly put out a house fire Friday morning near Kiel. Around 10:55 a.m., crews were called to 19735 State Highway 57 in the Town of Schleswig for a report of fire in the back of a home. The lone resident was there and able to evacuate.

TOWN OF HOLLAND, Wis. (WHBL) – A Plymouth teen was hospitalized after losing control of his vehicle and shearing off a power pole near Cedar Grove early Friday morning. The Sheriff’s Department responded to Sauk Trail and Amsterdam road just before 2am for a report of a crash. The teen was charged with his 2nd OWI, and possession of paraphernalia, and taken to Memorial Hospital to be treated for possible back injuries.

Bridge in Menasha will be closed to vehicles starting late Sept., remain closed until fall 2022

MENASHA, Wis. (WFRV) – Motorists who use the Racine Street Bridge in Menasha will need to find a new route starting Sept. 27. According to the Wisconsin Department of Transportation (WisDOT), the Racine Street Bridge will close to vehicle traffic and remain closed until the fall of 2022.
