Man Struck, Killed By Tractor-Trailer In North Philadelphia

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) – A man was struck and killed by an 18-wheeler tractor-trailer in North Philadelphia. The incident happened on the 3700 block of N. 2nd Street, just after 10 a.m. Friday. Police say the man, in his 60’s, was standing in the middle of the street when he was struck. He was pronounced dead on the scene. The driver of the tractor-trailer remained at the location. The incident remains under investigation.

Secane man pleads to $102G theft

MEDIA COURTHOUSE – A Secane man was sentenced to time served to 23 months in jail after pleading to theft and conspiracy charges related to a $102,000 fraud scheme. Eric Stankiewicz, 35, was also given five years of probation for his role in stealing from a Clifton Heights industrial equipment supplier through fraudulent credit card transactions. Co-defendant Dory Sater, 45, of Drexel Hill, is scheduled for a Dec. 2 motions hearing.

Wilmington man charged with pair of Claymont carjackings

A 19-year-old Wilmington man was charged in connection to two Claymont carjackings in the previous two months, Delaware State Police announced Friday. According to authorities, Jamir Leggett took a 2013 Acura MDX from a 52-year-old man fueling his vehicle at the Exxon at 3700 Philadelphia Pike on September 7, 2021, and a 2020 grey Hyundai Sonata from a 73-year-old man in the parking lot of the Food Lion at 3609 Philadelphia Pike on October 2, 2021.
