Beacon Man’s Artwork to Be Featured in Popular Magazine

It’s pretty cool when someone you know can brag that they have something being published in a popular national magazine. And he’s a Hudson Valley resident. You may have heard of RonzWorld Guitars and Gallery in Beacon. It’s an awesome store on Main Street, and it’s full of rock and roll artwork, most of it done by Ron, the owner of RonzWorld.

Daemon Targaryen (Matt Smith) shoots the messenger in House of the Dragon

Filming is wrapping up at Cornwall for House of the Dragon, HBO’s upcoming Game of Thrones prequel series, but we still have a few more scenes from the set to go over. The most interesting one involves Matt Smith’s character Daemon Targaryen, the hot-tempered younger brother of King Viserys I Targaryen (Paddy Considine). We’ve seen quite a bit of him during this stretch of filming, which makes sense; he’s a crucial player in the Dance of the Dragons, the Targaryen civil war at the center of the show.

Woodstock Film Festival is back, live, September 29-October 3

Like every other arts organization or venue that depends on the physical gathering of an audience in a common space, the Woodstock Film Festival was forced to reinvent itself last year. Most of the 100+ movies it presented in 2020 were streamed online (as were the panel discussions), but about 30 films could be seen on a big screen — in one of three local drive-in theaters.
