High School Football: Kingston start time moved up amid security concerns

KINGSTON, N.Y. — Kingston High School has moved up its start time for Friday’s varsity home football game with Red Hook, citing new security procedures. A fight between spectators behind the Dietz Memorial Stadium grandstand late in the Sept. 17 game with Saugerties led to a strong presence by Kingston Police and Ulster County Sheriff’s Department. MIDDLETOWN, N.Y. — Unbeaten Kingston High is now 3-0 in girls tennis after defeating Middletown 4-3 in an Orange County Interscholastic League match Monday. The Tigers followed a familiar pattern by dominating singles play as Lila Freeman, Eliz Madonna, Aliyah Faircloth and Iris Laves all won. Freeman had her toughest match of the season. She lost the first set to Cymone Crump, then rallied to win 6-2, 6-1.
