Norwalk considers adding dog parks throughout city

NORWALK — The city is considering adding more dog parks following an increase in animal waste and need for pet-friendly spaces. Interim Recreation and Parks Director Ken Hughes said at the Common Council’s Sept. 8 Recreation and Parks Committee meeting that he plans to propose new dog ordinances for the new parks master plan on which the department is working.

Shelton group collecting donations for animal shelter

SHELTON — Envision Shelton is helping to restock the city animal shelter’s shelves. The organization has placed boxes at Bruegger’s Bagels, 817 Bridgeport Ave., and Moderno Barbershop, 194 Leavenworth Road, to collect pet supplies. The boxes will remain at those sites until Sept. 27.
