Funeral services for Shane Harmon will be held at 1:00 P.M. on Wednesday, September 22, 2021 at The Price-McElroy Funeral Home in Kenton with Rev. Tim Kohl officiating. Burial will follow at Grove Cemetery in Kenton. Friends and family may visit 2 hours prior to services at the funeral home. The family has asked that everyone wear masks as well as their favorite, OSU, Reds, or 49’s gear.

Former basketball coach charged with sexual imposition

A former basketball coach is facing charges including providing material harmful to juveniles and sexual imposition. According to the indictment from Auglaize County, Cole Fischbach is facing seven counts, including tampering with evidence, disseminating matter harmful to juveniles and sexual imposition of a victim between the ages of 13 and 16 years of age. The charges stem from incidents that happened in May and June of this year. The 26-year-old allegedly had sexual contact with a young teen and tried to get rid of the evidence.

A Lima man gets 12 years in prison for threatening girlfriend with a gun

A Lima man that served as his own lawyer during his trial, was sentenced to 12 years in prison. John Sanders received the sentence for one felonious assault and one kidnapping charge. Back in 2019, Sanders pointed a gun at the head of his girlfriend Dawn Bloomfield, put the gun in her mouth, and fired two shots at her when she was behind a closed door. During the trial, Sanders said that he was trying to get Bloomfield away from him for her own safety.

The newest class in the Allen Lima Leadership program had a unique orientation Thursday at Fassett Farm. The leadership and community development program allows 30 people a year to spend ten months growing their skills and building character. Thursday, the group got the opportunity to spend some of their orientation alongside horses at the Fassett Farm. Inside the barn, they were seen working directly with some of the animals for different team-building activities.
