CASCO, Maine — Crews are at the scene of what one agency referred to as a 'major structure fire' in Casco Friday night. Cumberland County dispatchers confirm the fire at 11 Varney Hill Road was reported just before 5:30 p.m. but it was unclear if there are any injuries or if anyone was inside the building when the fire broke out.

WINDHAM (WGME) -- The state has settled a lawsuit against a Windham-based moving company accused of preventing customers from posting negative reviews. According to the Maine Attorney General's Office, an investigation found Liberty Bell Moving and Storage Inc. and its owner, Kevin Finkenaur, violated federal and state acts by prohibiting customers’ negative reviews online and threatening others into removing negative reviews already posted.

Topsham affordable housing complex to be sold to private firm amidst rent concerns

An affordable housing complex in Topsham is set to lose some of its rent protections as it is set to be sold to a private developer. The Whispering Pines development is set to be sold to Foreside Real Estate Management out of Falmouth for less than the value of its current remaining mortgage. If boot camp is a strong indication of the direction that his military career may take, Austin Goslant of Raymond is off to a promising start. Goslant, a 2022 graduate of Windham High School, said that he decided to become a United States Marine because it’s always been a childhood dream and he knew it wouldn’t be easy. Never one to back down from a challenge, Goslant left the Lakes Region on Oct. 22, determined to excel at the 13-week test of moral, mental and physical strength at the U.S. Marine Corps boot camp and recruit training at Parris Island, South Carolina.
