NPSO Deputy selected as Telecommunicator of the Year Recipient

On April 26, at the Louisiana Chapters APCO/NENA Symposium in Marksville, Deputy Tehseae Batiste with the Natchitoches Parish Sheriff’s Office Communications Division was announced as the recipient of the Telecommunicator of the Year award for Louisiana Chapters APCO/NENA. This award is presented to the Telecommunicator who has contributed significantly to the profession of public safety dispatching and call taking through the prior calendar year. 6 arrested after disturbance Saturday afternoon

Natchitoches Police Department officers were dispatched Saturday, May 7 at 7:02 p.m. to the 1100 block of Highland Park Drive in reference to a disturbance. While officers were heading to Highland Park Police Communication Officers notified them that several gunshots were fired in the area. Officers made contact with several witnesses who said Brittany Slaughter, b/f, 25, of Natchitoches, fired several shots and hid the firearm inside a vehicle.

NATCHITOCHES, La. (KTAL/KMSS) – Five previous convicted felons are back behind bars following an early morning traffic stop in Natchitoches. According to Natchitoches police, officers with the Natchitoches Police Department’s ASP Unit conducted a traffic stop around 1 a.m. on Sunday near the Keyser Avenue and Jefferson Street intersection. When officers were speaking to the driver and passengers they smelled a strong odor of marijuana.

NPTCC celebrates its first CNA Student

Natchitoches Police arrest several convicted felons for being in possession of a firearm

On May 8, 2022 around 1:09 a.m., officers with the Natchitoches Police Department’s ASP Unit conducted a traffic stop near the intersection of Keyser Avenue and Jefferson Street. While officers were speaking with the driver and occupants they noticed a strong odor of marijuana inside the vehicle. Officers asked the driver and occupants to exit the vehicle and located an AM-15 Multi-Cal rifle.

School Board recognizes students of the year, attends to other business

The Natchitoches Parish School Board recognized Student of the Year winners and nominees for the 2021-2022 school year at its board meeting on May 10. SOY organizer Anita Dubois and Superintendent Dr. Grant Eloi congratulated each student as they presented them with a framed certificate for their academic success.
