Natchez is forecast to have showers tomorrow more than likely before 4 p.m. Chance of rain is at 70 percent and there will be a South wind from 5 to 15 mph and gusts as high as 20 mph. NATCHEZ — Ken and Sarah Laird Kochey are embroiled in a heartbreaking mystery over Bobby, their 2-year-old, rescued mixed breed hound dog. The first of May, the batteries on Bobby’s invisible fence collar had run out of juice, and as most dogs would, Bobby set out on a stroll, making his way from his home at Magnolia Vale the short distance to Magnolia Bluff Casino.

Our youth leading way past racial divides

Something wonderful happened in Natchez on May 19 – and the great thing about it is that it happened without a lot of fanfare, because it just felt natural. All three Natchez high schools, Natchez High, Cathedral and Adams Christian, participated in the longest Graduating Senior Motorcade in the history of our city, culminating in a fantastic Senior Appreciation Day at Duncan Park, again with graduates from all three schools present. It was amazing!

A Mississippi sheriff said he is being forced to consider temporary “Bandaid” solutions to a jail that has failed inspections and is not fit for inmates. Adams County supervisors agreed to look into a request from Adams County Sheriff Travis Patten to purchase one or more small portable buildings called “pods” from the Core Civic correctional facility on U.S. 84 in Natchez.
