Calumet man involved with Capitol attack files appeal

WASHINGTON, D.C. (WLUC) - An Upper Michigan man continues to fight against his detainment for charges related to the January 6 attack on the U.S. Capitol. Karl Dresch, of Calumet, initially filed an appeal against his detention back in May. He was arrested on January 19. That was just days after he was identified as one of the people who stormed the Capitol building on January 6 as part of former President Trump’s ‘Stop the Steal’ rally.

Northern Strike 21-2 operations planned in Western Upper Peninsula

LANSING, Mich. (WLUC) - Several Northern Strike (NS) 21-2 military training events are scheduled to take place in Michigan’s Western Upper Peninsula August 2-4, 2021. Flying operations are expected on and above Ontonagon-Schuster Field in Ontonagon and Sawyer International Airport in Gwinn. Ground training operations are planned in the Baraga State Forest.

(MUNISING, MI) Depending on where you fill up in Munising, you could be saving up to $0.01 per gallon on gas. On Saturday the cheapest gallon of unleaded regular in the area was at Sunoco at E7889 M-28. Regular there was listed at $3.28 per gallon Wednesday, compared to $3.29 at Holiday at 301 E Munising Ave, which GasBuddy clocked as the most expensive station in the area.

Sault's Lujan breaks strongest man record at All-Star Game

MARQUETTE — Daylan Lujan of Sault Ste. Marie broke a strongest man contest record at the U.P. All-Star Football Game skills challenge Wednesday. Lujan completed 23 reps in the 225-pound bench press, which earned him the top place all-time in the ‘non-lineman’ division. He beat the previous record of 19 reps, set in 2013 by fellow Sault all-star Kyle Root and tied in 2017 by John Paramski of Newberry.
