Small town life in Haviland, Kansas just got a little better for working moms in need of daycare options. Kathy Koehn opened the doors of Little Sprouts Daycare at the Haviland Fitness Center on Monday, August 8 and is now able to provide childcare services that were previously lacking for many in Kiowa County.

Jimmy Wayne Myers

Haviland – Jimmy Wayne Myers, 77, passed away Sunday, July 10, 2022. He was born on June 28, 1945 in Arkansas to Edward and Eula (Day) Myers. Jimmy attended both Grade School and High School in Rolla, Kansas . He enjoyed fishing with his brothers and following them around, doing whatever they were doing. Jimmy was also a survivor of the 2007 Greensburg tornado. He is survived by his brothers, Charles Eugene Myers of Liberal and Warren (Barbara) Myers of Rural Rolla; sister, Kathrine (Rick) Rawlins of Dolan Springs, Arizona; and a sister-in-law, LaVerna Myers of Siloam Springs, Arkansas. Jimmy is preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Eva Baldwin and Yvonne Moore; and brothers, Bradley Myers, Bill Byers, and Kenneth Myers. Cremation has taken place and a private family inurnment will be held at a later date in Hugoton, Kansas.
