Drowning in Town of Fallsburg

FALLSBURG – Town of Fallsburg Police are currently investigating a drowning that occurred late Saturday afternoon. The location and other details were not immediately available. Chief Simmie Williams said relatives of the victim have yet to be notified and he said the incident is under investigation.

HYDE PARK – A possible development into the case of a missing Hyde Park woman brought several State Police investigators to the grounds of Hyde Park Estates on Friday afternoon. Troopers have been actively trying to locate 48-year-old Bobbilyn Sturgess for more than two weeks and have been asking the community for help.

Bear cub gets trapped in upstate NY food bucket

State Environmental Conservation officers recently helped free a bear cub with a plastic chicken feeder stuck on its head in Greene County. The incident, perhaps reminiscent of a Winnie the Pooh conundrum, started July 1 when a conservation officer received a call from a resident about a black bear cub with what appeared to be a bucket stuck on its head in the hamlet of Round Top.
