Vehicle Fire Reported in Marshfield

MARSHFIELD, WI (WSAU) — First responders in Marshfield were able to extinguish a burning vehicle before any significant damage was done to the home it was parked by. Officers say they were called to the home on Upham Street early Tuesday morning where a man said he had started his Chevy Silverado to let it warm up before driving it. when he came back ten minutes later, the front end was on fire.

LINCOLN COUNTY SHERIFF’S OFFICE REPORT

A 28-year-old Neenah, Wis., man and a 30-year-old Denmark, Wis., woman were arrested on multiple charges Monday morning after deputies responded to a vehicle in the ditch on Brandenburg Ave. in the Town of Scott. The charges for the male include misappropriate ID information to avoid penalty, probation violation, and take and drive motor vehicle without owner’s consent, and the woman was charged with possession of drug paraphernalia and take and drive vehicle without owner’s consent two counts.

Plea deal likely for Wausau man charged with shooting friend in 2019

WAUSAU, Wis. (WSAW) - A plea hearing is scheduled to take place next week for a man accused of fatally shooting his friend more than three years ago. David Anselmo is charged with first-degree reckless homicide and operating a firearm while intoxicated. Prosecutors said Anselmo told investigators his finger was near the trigger of the gun when it slipped. Nineteen-year-old Troy Wilcox died as result.

MERRILL POLICE DEPARTMENT REPORTS

At 9:59 a.m. an employee at a local store reported someone had stolen his jacket. The officer reviewed surveillance video which showed a male enter the store, remove his own jacket, and then put on the employee’s jacket. The employee’s jacket also contained the keys to his vehicle. The officer recognized the man and located him shortly thereafter in the area wearing the employee’s jacket. The man became resistive with the officer when he attempted to take him into custody. The man was arrested for theft, resisting an officer, and two counts of bail jumping.
