More than 20,000 country fans fill the Gorge for Watershed festival’s joyous, unbridled return

GEORGE, Grant County — A giant mass of star spangled bikini tops and sweaty dude backs globbed toward the gates. “Go Cougs!” chants broke out for no apparent reason. Inside, thousands of people traipsed across the Gorge Amphitheatre’s familiarly dusty fields, braving blisters and unrelenting heat to see their favorite country artists, and discover new favorites, at the ninth annual Watershed festival.

Dozens of residents without power until Sunday due to destructive haystack fire near Hartline

HARTLINE - Residual heat left over from Friday’s haystack fire is forcing utility crews to hold off on repairs, leaving dozens in the dark overnight. At around 3 p.m., Grant County Fire District 6 Chief Dennis Pinar says crews were called out to a fire that eventually consumed 2,500 tons of hay. The fire supposedly started at around 2:30 p.m.; its cause is still under investigation.

Moses Lake gas at $3.41 per gallon? This is the cheapest fill-up in town

(MOSES LAKE, WA) For bargain hunters there may be no better target than gas, with the cheapest station in the Moses Lake area offering savings of $0.68 per gallon. On Saturday the cheapest gallon of unleaded regular in the area was at Half-Sun Travel Plaza at 420 S Wanapum Dr. Regular there was listed at $3.41 per gallon Wednesday, compared to $4.09 at Chevron at 4421 Pitchard Rd, which GasBuddy clocked as the most expensive station in the area.

Caution urged for people attending Watershed at Gorge Amphitheatre

The Watershed country musical festival returns to the Gorge Amphitheatre Friday through Sunday and with it a huge crowd. Concert-goers and campers are being warned that fire danger is extremely high and with temperatures expected to be up to 105 degrees Friday and Saturday, they’ll need more than alcohol to stay hydrated.
