Sidney Girls Golf Takes Second in Alliance

ALLIANCE – The Alliance Invitational and Western Conference Girls Golf tournaments were played at Sky View Golf Course in Alliance on Monday. Scottsbluff, once again, ran away with the team title in both tournaments with a 313 team total. Sidney earned their best finish so far on the season, placing runner-up with a team total of 415. Chadron and Gering finished third and fourth respectively with Alliance and Mitchell not posting a team score for lack of players.

The Panhandle Worksite Wellness Council honored the 4th Leading Light Award recipient at the recent Panhandle Safety & Wellness Conference held in Gering on September 22nd. Scottsbluff man facing drug charges after failing to use turn signal

SCOTTSBLUFF, Neb. — A Nebraska Panhandle man is awaiting sentencing on felony drug charges. According to Scottsbluff Police, 53-year-old Vicente Hernandez was pulled over for failing to use his turn signal on August 1. SPD officials said officers then requested a search of Hernandez's vehicle, and Hernandez then consented to the search.

On Sept. 20 at approximately 1:58 p.m. Scottsbluff police officers were dispatched to Highway 26 just east of Avenue B to an accident. A 2017 Ford Focus driven by a 90-year-old Scottsbluff man, had been eastbound in the westbound lanes when it collided with a 2007 Toyota Sienna driven by 39-year-old Adam Chavez of Scottsbluff.

Police: Lyman man attacks police officer with knife

LYMAN - A Lyman police officer was injured when they were attacked by a man with a knife.
