Chief Priest Report – Lytle

We got through last week with only 39 calls for service! Officers conducted 69 traffic stops. Of those stops, 63 were citations and six were warnings. There was only one person arrested last week. Ofc. L. Diaz conducted a traffic stop on Main Street and determined the driver had an active warrant out of Bexar County for driving with an invalid license. The suspect was booked into the Atascosa County Jail.

Poteet’s Garcia qualifies for world bench press championships

No soy lo que piensas. The phrase, which means “I’m not what you think,” is stitched on one of Jalyssa Garcia’s lifting belts and rings true for her on a common basis. As a powerlifter, she has often been underestimated on first impressions. However, the Poteet senior has often caught people by surprise.

RETURN OF THE BOYS OF FALL

The four local football teams are now a week and a half into the fall camp schedule and will soon take the field for their first scrimmages. After nearly two weeks of practicing against their own teammates, the players for Pleasanton, Jourdanton, Poteet and Charlotte will get the chance to go against players in a different colored jersey for the first time since last season. The scrimmages won’t count against the teams records. It is just an opportunity to get some game action in preparation for the start of the season on Aug. 26.

Landmark Inn - Historical Site - Castroville, Texas

- This was one of my First Historical videos I ever did! The Landmark Inn, built in the mid-1800s and located in the heart of Castroville, began serving travelers in 1853. However, the original structure was built as a home and dry goods store for owner and Swiss merchant Cesar Monod and featured a rear-detached kitchen. Today, the Landmark Inn State Historic Site, a Texas Historical Commission property, offers unique historic lodging in guest rooms, serving as an ideal launching point for exploring the Alsatian architecture and culture of Castroville. A continental breakfast is served each morning and the site offers guided tours, fishing, swimming, and picnicking for both guests and day users.

Making cobblers

My trip to Devine, last week, was great. I enjoyed playing bunco with my friends and we truly missed the ones that were out sick. There were several of them and I really hope y’all are beginning to feel better. I got to see my newest great-granddaughter on Wednesday and of course she is a doll. Her mama is such a sweetie; I was allowed to hold her all I wanted to!
