Montgomery Co. Officially Closes Mass Vaccine Hub With 439,294 Doses Administered

CONROE, TX – The mass vaccination efforts in Montgomery County have finally wound down to a close as the final vaccine update was giving in Commissioners’ Court Tuesday. With 437,853 vaccine doses administered, Montgomery County’s only mass vaccine hub at Woodforest Stadium shut down operations on June 1, 2021. Deconstruction of the site is almost complete, leaving the stadium back in Conroe ISD’s hands.

Montgomery Co. Approves November Early Voting Locations, Times

CONROE, TX – The Montgomery County Commissioners’ Court voted to approve early voting locations and times for the November 2, 2021 joint election. Approved through the consent agenda, the early voting locations and times offer 12 days of early voting before the November 2nd election day. There will be no early voting on Sunday, a change from previous election cycles which saw a half-day of open polls.

Lt. Col. Allen West Resigns As Chairman Of Republican Party Of Texas

AUSTIN, TX – The Republican Party of Texas announced its Chairman, Lt. Col. (Ret.) Allen West, has turned in his resignation from his position in the party. In a morning release, The Republican Party of Texas stated Chairman West turned in his “irrevocable resignation” during an 8:00 a.m. meeting of party officials. West will remain Chairman until a new Chair is selected by party leadership on July 11th.

Stolen Vehicles, Equipment Recovered After Pct. 5 Traffic Stop

MAGNOLIA, TX – Deputies with the Precinct 5 Constable’s Office recovered a large stash of stolen vehicles and equipment after a traffic stop led them to the location. Deputies stopped 37 year-old Aaron Hughes on Terri Lane a little before noon on Saturday, May 29. After speaking with Hughes, Deputies learned the dirt bike he was driving had been reported as stolen. Deputies were then led to 15619 Gaff Rd, where Deputies met with auto theft investigators from the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office.

Hurricane Season Starts Now; Are You Ready?

CONROE, TX – June 1st marks the beginning of Hurricane Season, and while the tropics are quiet today, NOAA predictions forecast another above-average season. This year’s storm season is not expected to reach the historic level of activity as 2020, which saw 30 named storms. Even names off the Greek alphabet, the back-up name list for when storms surpass the 21 names selected by NOAA, had to be retired due to the damage the storms caused last year.
