New fire forces evacuations along Montana 35

Residents were ordered to evacuate Saturday morning as a new wildfire cropped up in the Mission Mountains east of Polson. Fire officials with the Confederated Salish and Kootenai Tribes initially estimated the Boulder 2700 Fire at 150 acres. It was burning in steep terrain with heavy downed fuels east of Flathead Lake and about 8 miles east of Polson.

Telehealth service Nurx now available in Montana

MISSOULA, Mont. – The country’s largest digital medical practice, Nurx, is launching a variety of services in Montana. Telehealth services include doctor consultations, birth control prescriptions, lab work and even COVID-19 testing. The company will also provide prescription medication delivery. Patients can access all of the services online or by phone.

Montana State Fair gets underway in Great Falls; masks optional

Walking through the Montana State Fair, you're likely to find as many reasons for people not wearing a mask as there are people at the fair. "I feel pretty safe not wearing one so far, but if things start to rise then I will definitely keep my mask with me,” fairgoer Loralie Carroll said. Montana, Idaho Forest Fires Relentlessly Grow Larger

The smoke continues to pour into the Bitterroot Valley and other areas of western Montana as a month of above average temperatures wraps up. And all major fires that started this month continue to get a little bigger each day. But weather forecasters are expecting a couple of days of rain showers Sunday and Monday. It's a "good news-bad news" forecast - yes, there will be some rain, but there may be some lightning, too. There's the possibility of lightning starting more forest fires.
