Two women and a seven-year-old boy from southwest Missouri are seriously injured in a suspected DWI crash in Laclede County. The Missouri State Highway Patrol says Laci Stonebraker, 25, of Verona, was driving on Pennington Drive north of Lebanon Thursday night when she failed to stop at a stop sign and ran off the side of the road. Her car then struck a fence and a tree before catching fire.

JOPLIN, Mo. – Jeremy Caddick may be new to the job of serving as a Jasper County Missouri Department of Conservation (MDC) agent, but he’s not new to Jasper County. Starting Oct. 1, Caddick will begin his duties as conservation agent for Jasper County. He will work alongside fellow Jasper County Conservation Agent Corporal Tyler Green. He replaces Will Carr, who was promoted to Lieutenant in MDC’s Protection Branch last year.

Dennis Dwight Housman, 72, of Monett, MO , passed away on Wednesday, September 21, 2022 following a short illness. Dennis was born on October 24, 1949 in Chariton, IA, son of Cecil and JoAnne (Hayes) Housman. Following his education, Dennis served his country honorably in the United States Army during Vietnam. Throughout his working years, he had worked for and retired from Morton Buildings and was a farmer. Dennis was a proud member of the V.F.W. Post #4207, the American Legion Post #91 and D.A.V. He was an avid fan of the Kansas City Chiefs and enjoyed woodworking.

Board member Jason Chapman requested an agenda item for Wednesday’s school board meeting to discuss the idea of corporal punishment.
