Arizona man faces unlawful imprisonment charge following alleged assault

A Maricopa man is accused by police of assaulting a woman, and “dictating her actions” while she was on the phone with officers on Monday afternoon. Stephen J. Petronsky was arrested and booked into Pinal County Jail on suspicion of assault (domestic violence), criminal damage (domestic violence), disorderly conduct and unlawful imprisonment, police said.

Argument leads to suspect killing father dropping off birthday gift, police say

CHANDLER, Ariz. (Arizona’s Family/Gray News) - Authorities in Arizona say an argument led to a man killing a father dropping off a birthday gift for his daughter. Investigators say the incident started when 29-year-old Carlos Dorion and 37-year-old Domingo Luz got into an argument after Dorion tailgated Luz while the two were driving Monday evening.

Maricopa council approves final plat for 536-unit apartment project

The final plat for what will be Maricopa’s largest apartment community was approved unanimously by City Council on Tuesday. The final plat for Home at Maricopa apartments splits the initial parcel into five for phasing of the project northeast of North Porter Road at Maricopa-Casa Grande Highway, which is just east of Walmart.

PHOENIX (December 9, 2022)— According to Maricopa County Department of Public Health (MCDPH), cases of COVID-19, influenza (flu), and respiratory syncytial virus (RSV) are all higher than usual for this time of year, and COVID-19 and flu cases are still increasing. MCDPH is encouraging everyone ages six months and older to get vaccinated against COVID and flu to prevent additional cases as people gather this holiday season.

Indoor pool chlorine leak sends 4 people to hospital, including Maricopa firefighter

MARICOPA, Ariz. (3TV/CBS 5) — Several people, including a firefighter, were taken to a hospital Wednesday morning after a chlorine leak at an indoor pool in Maricopa. Around 10 a.m., crews responded to reports of multiple people having trouble breathing at the Province community recreation center. Firefighters quickly noticed a distinct chlorine smell and upgraded the call to a hazardous materials situation, requesting additional help. HAZMAT crews, including a team from the Chandler Fire Department, found a chlorine leak at the center’s indoor pool and are working to contain it.
