Downtown Mitchell bar owner seeks to build patio in neighboring parking lot

A new outdoor patio could soon adorn the south end of Mitchell’s Main Street. The owner of Jades Bar in downtown Mitchell is seeking to transform a neighboring parking lot that’s owned by the city of Mitchell into a patio. Mitchell Mayor Bob Everson is on board with the plan, as he said it would be a “nice addition” for the downtown area.

WATERTOWN — The winning streak for the Mitchell High School volleyball team climbed to five matches in a row with a four-set win Thursday night. The Kernels decisively claimed the third and fourth sets to earn a road win at the Watertown Civic Arena in Eastern South Dakota Conference play. Set scores were 25-22, 18-25, 25-18, 25-15.
