CAMILLA — The Mitchell County Sheriff’s office notified residents on its Facebook page of a “kidnapping scam” that has been reported at least twice since Sunday. According to the sheriff’s post, the scam typically begins with a phone call saying a family member is being held captive. The caller may allege your daughter has been kidnapped, and you’ll hear a female screaming in the background.
