Crookston will be on the road this week starting with a Triangular in Bemidji where they’ll play the Detroit Lakes Lakers for the third time, winning 5-2 and 6-1 earlier. Bemidji is on a seven game winning streak after a 6-1 win over Park Rapids on Thursday and then in a Hibbing Invitational on Saturday, The Lumberjacks finished a strong third place with 23 points behind Stillwater’s-28 and Pine City’s-27. Crookston will finish the week out with their annual trip to the Litchfield Tournament on Saturday. Today’s matches will start at 3:30 PM.

The Minnesota Twins gave some softball players in St. Louis Park the Major League Baseball treatment with their “Target Field Youth Takeover” at Aquila Park Sept. 18. The recently renovated softball fields served as the backdrop as two softball teams from St. Louis Park Fastpitch and 612 Softball received the big-league treatment, complete with a public address announcer, player introductions, Twins uniforms, in-game entertainment and more to complete the day.

Mavericks split games in first NSIC matches
