Torrington farm could become new RV park; Bantam campground owners under contract

TORRINGTON — The owners of Cozy Hills Campground in Bantam are proposing a 100-site RV park, using the Klug Farm on Klug Hill Road. Represented by attorney Charles Ebersol, Cozy Hills owners Lelah Campo and husband Dan Mahieu presented their concept plan to the Planning & Zoning Commission Wednesday. Part of the special exception permit required for their application, which could be filed in February, includes changes to the zoning regulations governing outdoor recreational facilities, which they say are antiquated and should be updated to reflect national campground standards.

I Was Pizza Shamed in Beacon, New York

Pizza snobs are out there and they are judging your pizza topping selection. This is something that happened to me recently and it was a little ridiculous. I don't know what makes New Yorkers take their pizza so seriously. It may be because it's some of the best in the country. Is it the dough? What is it about the dough here? Is it really the water that makes it superior? A lot of people really believe this. According to Food & Wine, New York took 3rd place in having the best pizza in the entire country. We were just behind Connecticut and New Jersey. I think we were robbed.

Hilary Matt Puts a Modern Spin on the Country Aesthetic for a Home in Amenia, New York

When tasked with designing a country escape in Amenia, New York, designer Hilary Matt opted for a playful take on traditional aesthetics. “We were highly influenced by the Hudson Valley in this residence and decorated with a modern country feel,” shares Matt of the home, which is located within the Silo Ridge community. For the young family who purchased the house as a means of escaping the hustle and bustle of New York City, Matt prioritized a balance of form and function. The daughter’s room doubles as a guest room, for example, and features a sophisticated palette of subtle neutrals accented by pink pieces that offer flexibility, such as the floral pillows.
