10 more winners $50,000 richer in 'MI Shot To Win' COVID-19 vaccine lottery

Ten more Michiganders are $50,000 richer after getting their first does of the COVID-19 vaccine this month. In its third announcement in three weeks, on Tuesday the Protect Michigan Commission identified Michiganders who won daily $50,000 drawings in the "MI Shot To Win" COVID-19 vaccine lottery. All of them are from the Lower Peninsula, but they do include northern Michigan's first winner — a Traverse City resident. The 10 newest winners and their vaccination dates are:

West Bloomfield woman wins $50k in Michigan’s COVID vaccine campaign

Leslie Boney had no intention of getting vaccinated against COVID-19. Then the West Bloomfield woman heard more and more about the variants. On July 7 she was vaccinated. Not only was it a good move to keep her protected, but on Tuesday she was named as one of 10 of the newest $50,000 winners in the MI Shot to Win contest which was set up to drive more Michiganders toward the COVID-19 vaccine.

400K COVID-19 Vaccines in Michigan Are About to Expire in a Month

Remember when the COVID-19 vaccines first rolled out and it was almost impossible to get an appointment? Well, it's quite the opposite now. The Michigan Department of Health & Human Services (MDHHS) says about 400,000 COVID-19 vaccines are going to expire in the next four weeks so those who haven't gotten vaccinated should do it as soon as they can.
