Six Rudyard players receive MHSBCA All-State honors

RUDYARD — Six Rudyard players were recognized on the recent Michigan High School Baseball Coaches Association All-State Team. Senior Brett Mayer landed Division 4 All-State First Team honors, while seniors EJ Suggitt (first base) and Tate Besteman (outfield) and sophomore Cam Peterson (infield) were voted to the All-State Second Team. Senior Austin Warner (catcher) and sophomore Aiden Bickel (infield) received honorable mention.

Eight Local Athletes to Compete in MHSFCA All-Star Game

Eight local athletes will compete in the Michigan High School Football Coaches Association All-Star Game on Saturday, with all seven competing on the same West team. The defense will feature five local players, with Mt. Pleasant’s Kory Davis, Cadillac’s Collin Johnston, Grayling’s David Millikin, Beal City’s Matt Oswald and Kingsley’s Brett Peterson. Michigan High School Boys Volleyball all-state team for 2022 season

The Michigan high school boys volleyball season came to a close in dramatic fashion earlier this spring, as Hudsonville edged Grand Haven 3-2 in the state championship match. The Eagles claimed their second straight state title thanks to a loaded lineup of playmakers, while Grand Haven leaned on a variety of skilled varsity veterans to reach the state championship match and finish the season with a 34-6 record.
