MIAMI - Police said a person was in custody after gunfire rang out Wednesday afternoon at a Walmart in Southwest Miami-Dade County, authorities said. Police were called to the store located at SW 211 Street and Dixie Highway around 3:30 p.m. on a report of gunfire, officials said in an email statement. CBS4 has learned that an altercation between two men led to both opening fire. One man was transported to a local hospital where he later died. FHP Quick Response Force members to west coast, assist in search and rescue

FORT LAUDERDALE - Members of the Florida Highway Patrol's Quick Response Force left Davie early Thursday morning bound for the west coast. The four dozen members, who are trained in urban rescue, will assist the county and local officials with search and rescue efforts. They've taken high water vehicles to get to some of the more troubled areas along with needed resources, including chain saws to get through areas with downed trees and a drone to get a better view of areas that are still underwater."The impact is immeasurable. CHP Officer & Suspect Crash In Pursuit | Hollywood

09.26.2022 | 1:05 AM | HOLLYWOOD – A CHP officer rear ended a suspect after the suspect crashed into an innocent victim after a high speed pursuit through the San Fernando Valley and Hollywood. Officers attempted to stop the driver for an unknown reason off the 405 freeway. The vehicle fled at a high rate of speed and entered the Hollywood area. The innocent victim was sitting at the red light when the suspect came around the corner at a high rate of speed and lost control, striking his Range Rover SUV. Somehow, the CHP officer in pursuit rear ended both vehicles. A beer bottle was seen on the ground near the scene of the termination. Field sobriety tests were performed and the driver will be facing DUI charges. LAFD responded to the scene and transported the suspect for unknown injuries.
