The Salvation Army to host Feeding America Mobile Food Pantry in a New Location tomorrow

The Salvation Army will host a Feeding America Mobile Food Pantry tomorrow, May 19th at 10am. A mobile food pantry contains 15,000 pounds of food sent on a truck to provide food for 300 families in need, on a first come, first serve basis. Captain Rhegan Stansbury of the Salvation Army says, “we’ve been bouncing around from location to location but tomorrow we are at a new location.”

6 Northeast Wisconsin counties in 'medium' level of COVID-19 activity

(WLUK) -- As COVID-19 levels continue to rise, Brown County leaders are asking people to take precautions against spreading the virus. Six area counties -- Brown, Fond du Lac, Green Lake, Menominee, Shawano and Winnebago -- are listed in the "medium" category for virus activity according to Friday's U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention update. That is twice last week's count for the area.

Menominee School Board moves ahead with right-sizing of district

The Menominee Board of Education met in a special meeting Monday evening to either approve or deny two bond proposals that will be put forth on to the ballot for the August 2nd election. Board President Derek Butler says, “The first ask is going to be for a 4k–3 building and that ask is going to be for $41, 545,000. The second ask is going to be for $26, 105,000 and that is going to be for moving towards a one-campus facility.”

Three Counties Move Into “Medium” COVID-19 Category

MADISON, WI (WSAU) — Three Wisconsin counties have moved into the “medium” category for COVID-19 activity as new cases and deaths continue to increase. The CDC map shows Winnebago, Shawano and Menominee counties in the medium category. A total of 17 counties in Wisconsin were listed in “medium.” The rest were listed as “low.”

Annie’s Campground owner back in custody, bond set at $25,000

SHAWANO, Wis. (WBAY) - A Shawano County campground owner who has avoided court hearings and sued county officials is back in custody and appeared in court Thursday. On Wednesday, the Shawano County Sheriff’s Department confirmed Retzlaff, 52, wanted on charges related to a chase, was in custody. Retzlaff is charged in Shawano County and Menominee County related to the chase during which prosecutors say she almost hit two deputies. Those charges include eluding an officer, recklessly endangering safety and resisting/obstructing.

The YMCA has committed to distributing food on four occasions this year through Feeding America beginning tomorrow, Thursday, April 21st.
