Major heatwave arriving midweek — record temperatures expected

WILLITS, 6/13/21 — The first severe heatwave of the season will be arriving later this week, just ahead of the summer solstice on Sunday, June 20. A larger high pressure ridge will begin moving from the Four-Corners region west towards California on Tuesday and Wednesday, with the temps peaking on Thursday, then cooling off slightly but remaining very high.

Letters to the Editor: June 10

EDITOR: Would you buy a home without having it inspected? No. So why are four of the five Mendocino County Board of Supervisors willing to approve a new cannabis ordinance allowing for the expansion of cannabis onto Agriculture and Rangeland without doing an Environmental Impact Report? Why are they ignoring letters from residents saying they do not want Cannabis grows expanded? Why are they ignoring 3rd district Supervisor Haschack, who represents an area that is majorly impacted and who doesn’t support the new ordinance?

More than 3,700 illegally cultivated marijuana plants were eradicated and destroyed in Potter Valley after Mendocino County sheriff’s deputies served a search warrant.
