MEMPHIS, TENN.– Jarrett Scott Nunez, born on April 22, 1996, son of R. Scott Nunez and Felisha Nicole Schultz Nunez, passed away Saturday, Sept. 18, 2021, at the age of 25. Jarrett, a graduate of Grand Lake High School, was very active in 4-H, student organizations, swim team, and community service. He served as the coach for Sam Houston High School swim team in Moss Bluff as he finished his undergraduate degree. He was a graduate of McNeese State University with a major in Chemistry. Currently, he was working clinical rotations in Memphis at Baptist Hospital Emergency Department as a third year medical student of New York Institute of Technology College Osteopathic Medicine at Arkansas State.

Carl Kinkle Jr., 76, of Fayetteville, passed away Thursday, September 14, 2021, at Elk River Health and Rehab in Fayetteville. A memorial service for Mr. Kinkle was held Friday, September 17, 2021, at Higgins Funeral Home. Carl was born on February 27, 1945, in Memphis, Tennessee, to the late Carl, Sr. and Pearl Vaughn Kinkle. Mr. Kinkle graduated from East High School and majored in art in both high school and college. Carl was owner and manager of Crawford Supply Company. He was a member of Fayetteville First Presbyterian Church and in later years attended the Fayetteville First United Methodist Church. Martha McCullough Lane

MOUNT PLEASANT, SC — Martha McCullough Lane, 88, of Mount Pleasant, South Carolina, passed away on September 11, 2021, in Mount Pleasant, South Carolina. Martha was born in Covington, Tennessee to John David and Willie Aileen McCullough on May 24, 1933, the youngest of 10 children. As a young child, she was orphaned and spent her adolescent and teenage years in an orphanage in west Tennessee along with her brothers and sisters. After graduating from high school, Martha lived in Memphis, Tennessee with her sister, Jean, and Jean’s husband, while attending business school. Martha met her future husband, Joe Lane, at a tea dance at the Peabody Hotel in Memphis. They married in Mississippi on September 20, 1955, after Joe graduated from dental school. They moved to Paris Island, South Carolina where Joe worked as a dentist on the Naval base. Later, Martha and Joe moved to Rogersville, Tennessee where they raised three children, Kim, Laura, and Joe.

Borden, III, James T.

James Thomas Borden III (Jim) of Germantown, TN, passed away on September 10, 2021, at the age of 76. For many years, he was both a corporate employee and an authorized builder for Varco-Pruden pre-engineered buildings. The only child of J.T. and Judy Borden, Jim was born in Tupelo, MS and grew up in Plantersville, MS. He attended Tupelo Schools and The University of Southern Mississippi. He married his high school sweetheart and settled in Memphis and Germantown. Special interests included the Fiser Covenant Sunday School Class at Germantown United Methodist Church, his Big Orange UT football, his St. Louis Cardinals baseball, his cowboy hats and boots, and his travels. Predeceased by his parents, Jim is survived by his wife of 55 years, Anna Lynn Counce Borden and his children Michael and Alice Borden of Knoxville, John and Stephanie Borden of Lakeland, and Rick and Allison McKenzie of Arlington. Grandpa adored his amazing grandchildren Jessica Borden, Matthew Borden, Parker McKenzie, Elizabeth Borden, Garrett McKenzie, and Reese Borden.
