Memphis’ FedEx quarterly profit falls as labour costs leap up

FedEx Corp., the Memphis, Tennessee-headquartered courier services provider, had reported a 7 per cent decline in quarterly profits over first quarter of fiscal 2022 that ended on August 31 compared to the same time a year earlier, as a crippling upswing in labour costs had cramped earnings’ growth, eclipsing an upsurge in e-commerce shipping alongside higher shipping costs.

Diesel survey: Updated prices for every Memphis station

(MEMPHIS, TN) The price of diesel varies by as much as $0.55 in the greater Memphis area, according to a recent price survey. The survey, which looked at prices across the Memphis area on Tuesday, found that Tiger Mart at 1192 Jackson Ave had the cheapest advertised diesel, at just $2.84 per gallon. By comparison, the most expensive station in the area was Exxon at 2346 Summer Ave, which listed a per-gallon price of $3.39.
