On Thursday at approximately 7 p.m., a fast-moving thunderstorm moved into Meeker County. Meeker County Sheriff Brian Cruze says there were reports of localized flooding, some trees down, and roof damage throughout the county. There were multiple reports from trained weather spotters of cloud rotation in the Litchfield and Dassel areas but no reports of funnel clouds hitting the ground. A vehicle was washed off the roadway on Meeker Stearns Street east Eden Valley. The vehicle was fully submerged but the driver was able to get out safely. A semi was blown off the road on MN Highway 15 at 305th Street in Kingston Township. The driver, 56-year-old Kenneth Braniecki of Florissant, MO, was transported to Meeker Memorial Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. The Meeker County Courthouse also received roof and water damage as a result of the storm. There were no additional injuries reported from the storm.
