McPherson Co. man dies after pickup strikes guardrail, overturns

MARQUETTE, Kan. —A Kansas man died in an accident just before 10 p.m. Wednesday in Ellsworth County. The Kansas Highway Patrol reported a pickup driven by 62-year-old Richard Saunders of Marquette was northbound on Kansas 141 just north of the Kanopolis Reservoir dam when his vehicle struck the east guardrail several times before the truck traveled over the guardrail and rolled down the embankment.

Mask Protocol for McPherson Center for Health Facilities

Though McPherson County is seeing lower Covid-19 cases at the current time, that does not mean that we can completely relax the protocols requiring mask wearing at health care facilities. Teutons, Eagles Split Pair on Diamond

CANTON – Inman and Canton/Galva resided on the west and east sides of McPherson County and when the two meet up it will likely be a battle and on Tuesday, they collided on the baseball diamond where the two teams split a doubleheader with the Eagles scoring a late inning 3-2 win in game one before the Teutons took a 13-11 victory in the nightcap.

2 drivers killed in head-on crash in southwest Kansas: patrol

CIMARRON, Kan. (KAKE) - The Kansas Highway Patrol says two people were killed when their vehicles collided head-on in the southwest part of the state. It happened just after 5 p.m. Tuesday on U.S. 50 about 17 miles west of Cimarron. The patrol's crash log states an eastbound Chevy Cobalt drove onto the south shoulder and upon correcting, it went left of center and collided with a westbound Dodge minivan.

Driver Killed in Head-On Crash

One person was killed in a two-vehicle head-on crash involving a van and a semi on a McPherson County highway. According to the Kansas Highway Patrol, 43-year-old Robert Harrell of Kansas City was driving a 2019 Dodge Caravan headed east on U.S. 56 Highway. For an unknown reason he went left of center and struck an oncoming 2020 Volvo Semi head-on.
