Oaks on the River Luxury Boutique Resort:

The picturesque Darien waterfront is bustling with new construction. Real estate developer Art Lucas, of Lucas Properties, saw an opportunity five or so years ago, and together with the McIntosh County Industrial Development Authority, put together a planned development package for the city’s riverfront bluff that included luxury condominiums, a restaurant, resort and small marina.

Glynn, McIntosh sites land on 'Places in Peril' list

Golden Isles Veterans Village making progress

A new white home is now prominently on display on the property that will soon house an entire village of tiny houses meant to serve homeless veterans in the area. The Golden Isles Veterans Village celebrated a milestone Monday when the home was dropped off along with new signage meant to update the community on this progress.

Georgia DOT Awarded Approx $132 Million in Construction Contracts in September

In September 2021, the Georgia Department of Transportation (Georgia DOT) awarded a total of 20 projects valued at approximately $132,592,933. The largest single investment, worth approximately $8.7 million, was awarded to Seacoast, Inc. This bridge rehabilitation project will consist of an overlay of the bridge deck, joint replacement, spall repair, epoxy injection and pile jacketing at various locations on I-95/SR 405 in McIntosh County.
