Missing Juvenile from Quincy Located

On Wednesday, August 17, 2022, Sheriff’s Deputies assisted the Quincy Police Department and the US Marshall’s Service in locating a missing juvenile in Warsaw, IL. The juvenile had been missing from Quincy, IL since May 22, 2022. Deputies assisted in interviewing persons alleged to have knowledge of the juvenile’s whereabouts and in searching for the missing juvenile in homes in Warsaw.

QUINCY — A case against a Quincy man charged with two felonies in connection with a June 11 incident has been set for a plea on Aug. 31. Lenard M. Miller, 41, did not appear with attorney Drew Schnack on Wednesday morning in Adams County Circuit Court. However, Schnack told Judge Roger Thomson he recently received an offer of probation as part of a fully negotiated plea from the Adams County State’s Attorney’s office and that Miller would accept it.

David Ziegler retires after 35 years

Dr. David Ziegler, Professor of Chemistry, has retired from full-time teaching after celebrating 35 years of service to Hannibal-LaGrange University. In addition to serving as a chemistry professor for over 30 years, Dr. Ziegler has also taught classes in physical science, astronomy, and earth science. He will be staying on in a part-time capacity in the science department.

2 Local Girls Host 3rd Annual Lemon-Aid Stand for Salvation Army

When Grace and June asked their mom if they can do a lemonade stand to donate to the Salvation Army three years ago they never would imagine how big it would get. On September 3 the annual Grace and June Lemon-Aid stand will take place throughout Adams County and a few counties in Missouri. Back in 2019 (which was the first year of the stand) the girls, and their parents, never would imagine how the event would grow. This year stands throughout Illinois and Missouri (Adams, Pike, & Brown Counties in Illinois and Marion, Ralls, Lewis, Shelby, and Monroe Counties in Missouri) will be collecting money to give to the Salvation Army. When I asked the girls what made them come up with the idea for a lemon-aid stand they said.
