(Beaver Dam) Area youth sold off their prize-winning livestock during Thursday night’s 59th Annual Meat Animal Auction at the Dodge County Fair. In the Market Beef Auction, Matthew Roche of Columbus sold his Champion Dairy for $5 a pound to Hupf’s Repair. Gavin Lewke of Juneau had the Champion Beef which went for $5 a pound to Professional Floor Covering. Jacob Roche of Columbus had the Reserve Champion Dairy which went for $5.50 a pound to Pine Hills Trucking. Elijah Zick of Fond du lac got $3.75 a pound from Strieter Farm Truck Services for his Reserve Champion Beef.

Waupun Inmate Gets Additional Time For Beating Prison Guard. The Waupun Correctional Inmate found guilty last month by a Dodge County jury of beating a prison guard was sentenced Thursday. Timmy Johnson was sentenced to five years in prison and three years of extended supervision. He was already serving 50 years for a string of violent crimes and the new sentence will be added to that time. Johnson, who is 34-years-old, attacked the guard on June 8th of 2019. The catalyst for Johnson’s attack was his efforts to hide his medication from guards. He struck the victim in the head over 20 times. Officers had to use pepper spray and wrestle Johnson to the ground to stop the attack. The officer was seriously injured but was back on the job several days later. Johnson has been an inmate at Waupun Correctional since 2014.

The Dodge County Sheriff’s Office has identified the victim of a fatal rollover crash last week. The Sheriff’s Office says 42 year old Stacy Sigmund of Jefferson was pronounced dead at the scene last Tuesday on the northbound state Highway 26 off ramp at state Highway 16. A Fond du Lac man was seriously injured in a car versus bicycle accident in Fond du Lac. Police say shortly after 9am Thursday a bicyclist was attempting to cross Martin Avenue at Reinhardt Court when he was struck by a vehicle driven by a 69 year old Fond du Lac man. The 21 year old bicyclist was flown by helicopter to ThedaCare Regional Medical Center in Neenah with head injuries. He was wearing a helmet. The accident remains under investigation.
