Kinston Police: Search for missing person ends with fatality

On Saturday, July 24th, 2021, at approximately 1:40 am, members of the Kinston Police Department responded to the 1200 block of S. Queen St. Kinston, N.C. in reference to a subject that had jumped off of the Queen Street Bridge. Upon arrival officers were able to identify the individual as Dakota Gray, 23, of LaGrange. The Kinston Fire Department was called for assistance with the water rescue; however firefighters and officers were unable to locate the subject.

CHOCOWINITY, N.C. (WNCT) — The Beaufort County Sheriff’s Office announced the arrest of a Chocowinity man on drug-related charges. On July 16, investigators with the Beaufort County Sheriff’s Office Drug Unit executed a search warrant on Marcus Reddick’s residence at 522 Price Road in Chocowinity, which is across the street from Chocowinity Primary School. Investigators and K-9 Bodi found cocaine, marijuana, Oxycodone pills and $8,303.

Body of missing Kinston man found five miles from where police said he jumped from bridge

KINSTON, N.C. (WNCT) — Kinston Police said Wednesday morning the body of a man was found after officials said he jumped from a bridge last Saturday. Dakota Gray, 23, was reported missing Saturday. Members of the Kinston Police Department responded to the 1200 block of South Queen Street for a person who had jumped off the Queen Street Bridge. Police confirmed the person was Gray, who lives in LaGrange.
