Petition to decriminalize marijuana falls just short of ballot

A petition that sought to decriminalize minor marijuana possession in Kent fell four signatures short of the number needed to put the measure on the ballot. The initiative, proposed by "Sensible Kent," needed 806 signatures to go before Kent voters. However, only 802 signatures of the more than 2,000 signatures submitted were valid, said Theresa Nielsen, deputy director of the Portage County Board of Elections.
